Welcome to the Welsh Trail!

The Welsh Trail is a collection of places in London that are of special historical significance from a Welsh perspective.

This website is designed for visitors to London who would like to explore these hard to find and often hidden aspects of Welsh history and culture in this major capital city.

As Emrys Jones, author of The Welsh in London, has put it:

“All cities carry some imprint of the succession of migrants who have contributed to their past. They may have created an indelible quarter or ghetto, they may have left lasting monuments of their own way of life, or fashioned a tradition which has remained part of the fabric of the city. More often they have melted into the larger society and accepted assimilation as the cost of exploiting the benefits of city life. But traces of their past do not disappear; they can be sought and pieced together to reveal their role, however minor, in the history of the city.”
